    More Information

This spacious, family-friendly bungalow lies just a stone’s throw from the village of Carraroe, an Irish speaking village, in the heart of south Connemara in County Galway. This detached cottage is in an ideal location for exploring this lovely part of Ireland, offering holidaymakers a true slice of Irish living. Boasting a variety of bedrooms throughout to cater for many party types, this delightful cottage has been lovingly decorated and tastefully finished. There is a large kitchen and dining area, fully-equipped for all your culinary needs, so you can enjoy delicious meals with friends and family. After a day exploring the raw beauty that is Connemara, you can curl up in front of a roaring fire in the cosy sitting room. To the front of the cottage, lie glorious views of the bay and a lawned garden where the children can play safely. Carraroe is home to a well-stocked local supermarket and deli, along with a selection of traditional pubs where you can truly immerse yourself in Irish culture, with a spot of live music and a crash course in the local language! Carraroe is nestled between two bays, Casla Bay and Greatman’s Bay and is well-known for its traditional Irish fishing boats known as Galway Hookers. The surrounding islands, Lettermore, Lettermullen and Gorumna offer peaceful, unspoilt scenery to enjoy whether on foot or by bike. The entire region is a haven of untouched rugged beauty with sheltered coves, deserted sandy beaches and wild nature, so why not hop on your bike and see what makes this part of Ireland so attractive to visitors? You will be sure to meet some local Connemara ponies along the way! Further afield, and well worth a visit, are the cobbled streets of Galway, Kylemore Abbey and Gardens and the Connemara National Park. For a true Irish experience, this spacious cottage will not disappoint!
