Windermere village offers great pubs, shops and restaurants to browse, and Bowness and the Lake itself is a mile walk away, with all its Steam cruises, boat hire and bustling cafes and shops. Head out north towards Ambleside on the A591, and you have the full Lakes experience to hand, or head south to the market town of Kendal, and the buzzing village of Staveley, with bakeries, breweries and bike shops!
