The smart TV and DVD player offer a wide range of entertainment. Walking through into the L-shaped kitchen/diner, there’s a lovely country cottage feel and a substantial dining table with seating for 10. Stairs lead down to the lower ground floor where you’ll find 2 double bedrooms (one with a king size bed, sofa and TV) both with character beams, plus a bathroom with separate shower cubicle, basin and WC and a utility room with a washing machine and tumble dryer. You also have access to the garden and of course those stunning views. Finally on this level there’s a family bathroom with a bath, hand basin and WC and a separate shower room, also with hand basin and WC. Outside there’s an enclosed garden which is perfect for children and pets with a stunning bespoke seating area crafted from local slate. What gives Bank End Lodge the real wow factor is the hot tub in the garden, which allows you to relax in warm water even in the coldest weather. There’s also off-road parking for 4 cars. Grizebeck is a charming little village with a local shop and a traditional 300-year-old coaching inn serving local Lake District ales. There are plenty of walks literally on the doorstep of Bank End Lodge, ranging from the leisurely to the challenging, while nearby Coniston and Windermere are two of the jewels in Lakeland’s crown. There’s so much to see and do within a 25 minute drive of Bank End Lodge, from the South Lakes Animal Park to the architectural beauty of Holker Hall and Levens Hall. A lake cruise aboard one of the famous Windermere steamers is a must, while Morecambe Bay is just a stone’s throw away for a trip to the seaside. The Lake District is home to some of the best fine dining restaurants in Britain, while the hiking, climbing and outdoor activities are second to none.
Whether you’re a long time lover of Britain’s most popular National Park, or you’re discovering the beauties of the Lake District for the first time, Bank End Lodge is the perfect location for a family holiday at any time of year.
