More information

This attractive, semi-detached stone barn conversion is quietly tucked away in the bustling village of Hinderwell, 9 miles north of Whitby. Well maintained and comfortably furnished, the cottage is ideal for families and friends wishing to enjoy the beautiful mix of moorland and coast, in this area of the country. Downstairs, the modern galley-style kitchen leads into a light and spacious sitting room, whilst adjoining this is a superb, heated, south-facing conservatory, with exposed stone walls and views over the hills. Upstairs are three pretty bedrooms, providing warm and welcoming accommodation. Outside the cottage is an enclosed, walled patio, which attracts the afternoon and evening sun – a peaceful spot in which to sit with a glass of wine, after a busy day on the beach! Two minutes’ walk from the property brings you to the excellent amenities of the village, including a good butchers, a newsagents, two pubs, a bistro and a hairdressers, whilst the pretty cove and beach at Runswick Bay is a pleasant one-mile walk away and this beach has taken the top spot in The Times’ 50 best beaches for 2020. Enjoy a bracing clifftop walk on the Cleveland Way or visit the old smuggling village of Staithes, with its cobbled streets and tiny cottages tumbling towards the harbour. With rock pools and caves to discover, and fossils to collect, there is much enjoyment for all the family. There are a number of golf courses in close proximity to the cottage and with the stunning scenery of the North York Moors close by and the popular seaside towns of Whitby and Saltburn a short drive away, this well-located cottage makes an excellent holiday home and a superb base for walkers and cyclists.
