Hawkshead is famous for its links to Beatrix Potter and William Wordsworth, who’s Old Grammar School can still be visited today, where you can see his name etched into his desk. Other attractions worth seeing are; Bowness Bay on Windermere lake, The World of Beatrix Potter, Kendal castle and Levens Hall.
