Graythwaite fishery is free for all guests and equipment can be hired locally, a small fee is applicable to keep your catch, rod fishing license required. Note: Limited mobile reception. Note: Kindling available £4/bag, coal available £8/bag. Note: The table tennis room is available, but please bring your own racquets and balls. Briar offers a superb position, close to the estate’s on-site facilities, including a heated indoor swimming pool and children’s play area, while scenic woodland walks can be enjoyed from the doorstep. The nearby village retains bundles of character, together with quaint tea rooms, gift shops and traditional pubs to try. Hawkshead is famous for its links to Beatrix Potter and William Wordsworth, who’s Old Grammar School can still be visited today, where you can see his name etched into his desk. Other attractions worth seeing are; Bowness Bay on Windermere lake, The World of Beatrix Potter, Kendal castle and Levens Hall.
