Drive down to the charming village of Lakeside and say hello to the marine animals at Lakes Aquarium, make your way to Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway for a scenic and dog-friendly trip on their 20th-century vintage steam trains, and for a taste of history go to Lakeside Motor Museum to check out their exhibitions and collection of antique automobiles. Next, head to the town of Kendal, known for its bustling shopping district where you’ll find all short of locally-made goods, visit the ruins of 1200s Kendal Castle, view the fine art displayed in the stunning Georgian manor Abbot Hall, and the end day with a family dinner at The Joshua Tree bistro.
