Its position in this area of outstanding natural beauty and on the South West Coast Path lends itself to families and friends looking to enjoy scenic walks, watersports’ at nearby beaches such as Blackpool Sands 1 mile away, and is perfect for exploring local villages, towns and local attractions. The village itself has a popular local pub, village shop and restaurant, whilst also benefitting from being on a good local bus route. This village is a really great base for a varied Devon holiday.

The local area
The village of Stoke Fleming is situated in a stunning clifftop position and enjoys panoramic views across Start Bay. The village is located within a mile of the beautiful family-friendly beach at Blackpool Sands, with its turquoise waters, wooded cliffs and acres of sand and shingle, as well as the popular Venus Café.
Further along the coast road, you'll reach the historic naval town of Dartmouth, with its pretty harbour, castle, and numerous shops, galleries, bars and restaurants.
Following the coast road in the other direction, you'll reach the village of Torcross with its pebble beach on one side and the stunning Slapton Ley National Nature Reserve on the other – a natural freshwater lake separated from the sea by a narrow shingle bar, home to an abundance of birds and wildlife. Torcross has a village shop and Post Office, the fantastic Sea Breeze Café and The Start Bay Inn where you can get some of the best fish and chips you will ever taste!
The picturesque market town of Kingsbridge and the vibrant, somewhat bohemian town of Totnes are both within 30 minutes' drive and offer a great selection of independent shops, delis, cafés, pubs, restaurants and supermarkets.
