This peaceful cottage is situated along an impressive drive lined with beech trees and is attached to a Victorian rectory in the hamlet of Harford on the edge of the Dartmoor National Park. The accommodation is stylish and smart, with a lovely sitting room where you can relax on leather sofas beside the wood burning stove. The good sized kitchen with its granite worktops and dining area has glass doors to a sunny courtyard where you can enjoy leisurely barbecues. Head upstairs and you will find the two bedrooms and a bathroom. The outside space is lovely, with 40 acres of bluebell meadows and woodland to wander and spot all kinds of wildlife. Beyond the grounds, you can head directly on to open moorland to explore the wilds of Dartmoor. This is a fascinating area of the moors, with ancient stone circles and cairns and then the River Erme valley is a wonderful contrast with its watery beauty. For shops, head to Ivybridge two miles distant, and beaches don’t come much lovelier than Mothecombe which is just 10 miles away and was used for filming International Velvet, Sense and Sensibility and My Cousin Rachel. Butterbrook Coach House is a splendid retreat for a restful break.
