Stroll down to the ancient Holmrook Hall Bridge or into Holmrook where you’ll find the local pub and a well-stocked store. Within a short drive you’ll also arrive at Drigg Sand Dunes and Beach, perfect for energetic dogs, Eskdale Golf Course, Muncaster Castle, and the Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway, one of the oldest and longest narrow gauge steam railways in England, offering a 7-mile trip deep into Eskdale. A wealth of beauty spots are dotted around the area, including beautiful Wastwater, the deepest lake in the Lake District – perfect for paddleboarding and canoeing; Scafell Pike, England’s highest mountain; the infamous Hardknott Pass and its Roman Fort; Seascale Beach and the cliffs at St Bees Head.
