A trip south will take you to the city life of Cumbrias capital, Carlisle. If something more secluded appeals, thirty miles north finds the beauty of the Kielder National Nature Reserve, with its Water and Forest Parks. Gretna and Hadrian’s Wall are other attractions nearby.
