Venture into Barmouth to explore the quaint streets and classic seaside amusements, with Barmouth Harbour being an idyllic spot to spend an afternoon with lots of cafés and ice cream parlours to visit, before trying your hand at some crab fishing or taking a boat ride! Head down to the local watersports shop to rent equipment like paddle-boards, surfboards and kayaks for fun in the water. Barmouth Bridge, which was 150 years old in 2017 offers free passage for pedestrians or cyclists to cross from Barmouth to Fairbourne where you’ll find the famous Mawddach Trail along the disused railway line towards Dolgellau via the George the III pub. Visit Harlech for a day surrounded in Welsh history and take a walk around this striking castle or take the little ones to the swimming pool here where they can splash about and have hours of fun.
