Broughton-in-Furness 12 miles. A cosy semi-detached cottage, attached to the owners’ farmhouse, in an isolated setting on a working livestock farm in Cockley Beck in the stunning Duddon Valley. This perfect romantic cottage is situated in a truly away-from-it-all location, where nature really does meet you at the door; the Hardknott Pass is just outside the cottage, as is the River Duddon as it tumbles its way down the valley towards Seathwaite, in the beautiful Lake District National Park. Inside this cosy cottage is an open plan living area with a woodburning stove and superb views out to the surrounding fields and fells, together with a well-equipped kitchen, a bathroom and a double bedroom. Outside there is an enclosed garden and patio, surrounded in every direction by beautiful scenery. This really is a cottage where the air is pure and refreshing, the scenery breathtaking and the welcome warm. Being in the shadows of Harter Fell, Crinkle Craggs and the Scafell massif, this wonderful location is perfect for the serious walker and mountaineer. The tiny hamlet of Seathwaite is 4 miles down the valley where there is a lovely country inn serving delicious food, and the Hardknott Pass leads you over into Eskdale and Wasdale. Whenever you visit this special location you will be amazed at the abundance of wildlife and the starry night skies, so pack everything you need for your stay, as once you arrive at this beautifully rural, remote cottage you will not wish to leave!
