More information

Bala 5.6 miles. Sitting in Llanuwchllyn near Bala, North Wales is this charming, mid-terrace cottage of Coed Y Glyn. Dating back to the 1800s, this listed building is a delightful base for a family of four wanting to explore Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park, boasting welcoming interiors throughout and resting moments away from Llyn Tegid. After parking up on the road outside, make your way inside to find an inviting sitting room, where an electric fire creates a warm atmosphere for you to unwind and watch the Smart TV in. Continue to the country-style kitchen/diner, where all you need for a self-catering stay can be found, including an electric cooker and even a Velvetiser! After creating a culinary delight here, it can be savoured at the dining table as you plan your holiday itinerary. After tucking into dinner, head outside to the external utility to throw any old clothing into the washing machine. Behind here lies a restored bakery, where the original bread oven (not working) can be found, along with Cob the pheasant! When sleep calls, catch your rest in one of the two attractive bedrooms, a double and a twin, both of which enjoy access to a well-presented bathroom. Within easy reach of the property is the classic pub of Yr Eagles, where you can stop for a hearty lunch before boarding the fantastic Bala Lake Railway to Bala Lake, where ample hiking, watersports and unwinding can be enjoyed. The market town of Bala can also be found nearby, hosting the superb Bala Golf Club along with the pretty park of Lower Tryweryn; your amenities can be found here, too, such as Y Cyfnod Cafe & Bistro and several shops! Spend some time in Corwen, where hikes up to Caer Drewyn, walks along the River Dee and visits to Rhug Estate can be enjoyed. The lovely locations of Dolgellau, Llangollen and Betws-y-Coed are also easily reached, all offering access to a range of activities. A memorable stay in Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park awaits at Coed Y Glyn.
