    More Information

Tucked away in the peaceful Dorset village of Winterborne Kingston, beside the River Winterbone, is Cosynook Cottage, a characterful end-terrace property that provides the perfect getaway for a couple wanting to enjoy the tranquility of rural Dorset, whilst also being within easy reach of the coast and its bustling seaside towns. Park your car on the driveway and make your way inside this picturesque thatched cottage, hanging your coat and kicking off your shoes in the hallway, before discovering an inviting living/dining room, thoughtfully styled with matching tartan print on the walls and armchair, making you feel right at home as you sink into the sofa and flick on the Smart TV while the cosy log burner effect gas fire fills the room with warmth. Set the dining table and join together for a romantic evening meal, lovingly prepared in the newly fitted kitchen, housing all of the appliances you could wish for, or open the patio door onto the enclosed garden and enjoy an alfresco meal in the evening sunshine. The spacious double bedroom boasts a luxurious carpet, ample storage and a handy en-suite basin and WC, while the main bathroom on the ground floor offers a P-shaped bath with shower over, so you can grab a refreshing rinse or take time for yourself with a long soak in the tub. The Greyhound Hotel is just at the end of the road and serves food, should you feel like taking a night off from cooking, while a community shop can also be reached in walking distance, perfect for picking up any last minute essentials, while nearby Bere Regis offers a pub, an ice cream shop and a garage/convenience store. Here you will be within easy reach of a host of attractions, including a paintball centre, for those feeling adventurous, while animal lovers will enjoy discovering Higher Hyde Heath Nature Reserve, home to a range of rare reptiles, and Monkey World – an ape rescue centre, home to endangered primates. Be spoilt for choice by beach days out, with Poole, Bournemouth and Weymouth all within 20 miles. Poole’s beaches are closest, along with its RNLI Lifeboat Museum, performing arts theatre and harbour, from which you can access Brownsea Island, the largest of the harbour islands, owned by the National Trust and partly managed by the Dorset Wildlife Trust, home to a castle and wildlife centre. Bournemouth’s vibrant Victorian pier and Oceanarium will provide hours of entertainment; stroll along the seafront towards the picturesque sandy beaches of Alum Chine and Sandbanks Beach, which boasts incredible English Channel views and is particularly popular for watersports such as kite surfing. The market town of Blandford Forum is a short drive north and provides the perfect gateway to the Cranborne Chase AONB, where walkers will be rewarded with unspoiled views and picture-perfect villages, and Dorset AONB, which encompasses dramatic cliffs, rolling hills and glorious sandy beaches. You will not be short of wonderful day out opportunities from this idyllic couple’s holiday cottage.
