This charming cottage overlooks the pretty river right in the heart the Dorset village of Sutton Poyntz on the fringes of Weymouth, only a mile from the Jurassic Coast. It is the ideal getaway for a family, couples or group of friends looking to explore this fabulous region, with golden beaches and plenty of walking and cycling opportunities for a truly refreshing break. Make the most of the bright and airy sitting room, which has a solid oak floor, a lovely outlook over the river and a woodburner set in the inglenook for those cosy winter nights in. The kitchen is very well-equipped for cooking up a delicious meal and getting everyone together around the dining table to discuss plans for your trip. Upstairs, the master bedroom boasts a king-size double bed and en-suite shower room, while the double is filled with natural light from the dual-aspect windows, offering views over the front and the sunny back garden. The twin room is ideal for those either travelling with little ones, or a couple, while the family bathroom offers a deep-soaking bath tub to indulge after an adventure on the Jurassic Coast. Enjoy a quiet morning with a cup of coffee on the patio to the front of the cottage and take in the picturesque scenery of the babbling river, with ducks swimming along it and the Willow trees rustling in a cool summery breeze. Alternatively, spend a balmy afternoon barbecuing in the enclosed garden to the rear, which is a lovely sun trap with patio furniture and an elevated landscaped garden for the kids to play on. Stroll over to the Springhead pub, which offers food all day and has a children’s play area, for a refreshing drink to end the day, and for shops and other amenities, Preston is only a short walk away. You are in a fantastic location for touring the Dorset AONB and all that Weymouth has to offer, with its sandy beach, SEA LIFE Centre and plethora of shops, pubs and eateries. Explore the beautiful coastline and find the natural, limestone arch known as Durdle Door, one of the most iconic landmarks in the area, and Lulworth Cove with its white pebble beach, both World Heritage sites. This is a fabulous retreat to use as a base for your next Dorset holiday.
