Elv cottage is ideally situated with the River Dee a short stroll away and from here you can take the tiny ferry boat to the Meadows in the Summer months or just sit and indulge in the events surrounding the water. Fancy a pint? There is a traditional pub (5 mins walk) “The Mount” with an outstanding beer garden positioned on the riverbank. Chester has been named “The jewel of the North – West” and quite rightly so, with some of the most fascinating historical aspects, the city boasts old walls, medieval churches, and Elizabethan timber – framed townhouses. Explore the magnificent Chester Cathedral, spend a day at the zoo and if you time it right, the spectacular Chester Racecourse might be hosting an event, so grab your best finery and head on down to place your bets, it’s only a short walk away. The Chester Roman Walls and Amphitheatre are worth a visit, whilst the city hosts a delightful Christmas market across the winter months, recommended to visit if you’re in the area, or perhaps drive 15 minutes to Cheshire Oaks for a spot of shopping. A stone’s throw away is the stunning Welsh coastline and mountains and Liverpool and Manchester are easily accessed via train or road.
