More information

Fifty Five is a recently renovated holiday home located within a quiet residential road just a short drive from the pebble beach at Milford on Sea and the New Forest National Park. The bright and airy bungalow is home to original artwork and is finished to a beautiful standard throughout. The open plan living room overlooks the rear garden with French doors opening out onto the private paved space with tucked away seating area and fire pit for those chillier evenings. In the lounge area, the seating is centred around a cosy electric fire, and the dining kitchen is well equipped for self-catering during your stay. The master bedroom has an en suite shower room, and two further bedrooms benefit from a luxury family bathroom.

The village of Hordle is situated between the Solent coast and the New Forest National Park, and is bordered by the coastal sailing town of Lymington and the more modern New Milton. Both market towns offer a variety of shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs. There are several beaches within a short drive, and the beautiful New Forest National Park is close by, with miles of heathland to explore – enjoy walking, cycling or horse riding amongst the free-roaming ponies, cattle and donkeys. Other local attractions include the Sammy Miller Motorcycle Museum, Beaulieu Abbey and National Motor Museum, Hurst Castle and Lymington Sea Water Swimming Baths, with inflatable course, paddle board and kayak hire.

Outside

The paved and gravel rear garden is fully enclosed and has a seating area with outdoor furniture for al fresco meals. There is also a fire pit for those chillier evenings.

The local area

A lovely village between the coast, New Milton, Sway and Lymington. You’ll find everything you need within the village. There’s a little parade of shops with convenience store, takeaway and hairdressers. Elsewhere in Hordle is a post office, pharmacy, petrol station and parish church. For simple traditional food try the village pub, The Three Bells, located close to the petrol station. Villagers are an active crowd with a busy diary of events throughout the year, including scarecrow competition, arts and crafts exhibitions and village fayre.

In the village is Apple Court Garden, a private residence with beautiful, interesting gardens open to the public on selected days throughout the year. A lovey way to spend a day is at Hordle Lakes. A fishery for all levels and ages. The lakes are a collection of seven individual spring fed fishing lakes, open year around and heavily stocked with coarse fish and carp. Visitors come from all over the UK to fish here, and if you haven’t fished before, they offer tuition.
