Axminster is a market town located in Devon and bordering the counties of Dorset and Somerset, making it a great choice for getting out and about. The town, which has a heritage of carpet making, offers a choice of eateries and local pubs as well as the convenience of supermarkets for stocking up on your holiday essentials. Millers Farm Shop in neighbouring Kilmington is only a short drive away and sells a wide choice of local produce and fresh meats, with the on-site restaurant a popular spot to stop for a bite to eat. Other popular eateries in the area include River Cottage HQ, known for its TV show and locally sourced and showcased food, or The Tytherleigh Arms for those looking for delicious food in a casual and inviting setting. Located in an area popular with walkers and cyclists, head out and take a stroll along the River Axe or to one of the many walks or cycle routes within the East Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Just a short drive or bus ride will take you to the picturesque seaside town of Lyme Regis with its family-friendly beaches and the iconic Cobb Harbour.
