A wide network of walking and cycling trails is accessible just a short walk from the front door, and outdoor adventure activities are available at the Grizedale Forest Visitor Centre, a few miles away in the heart of the forest.
The small village of Satterthwaite, which has a traditional village inn, church and artist’s studio, is located one mile from the cottage. The Grizedale Forest Visitor Centre, with a café, cycle hire, Go Ape treetop adventure, zipwire course and forest segway experience, is 2½ miles away. The picturesque village of Hawkshead has wealth of pubs, cafes and shops, and is 5½ miles away, while the larger towns of Coniston and Ambleside are 10 miles away.
