    More Information

Torquay 2 miles. Fowey Cottage is a stylish bungalow within the district of Shiphay, a quiet area of Torquay just a couple of miles from the main sea front, marina, and town centre. Set on a slope with eleven steps up to the front door, and offering contemporary furnishings throughout, this modern holiday home has far-distant views over the town and feels light, bright, and cheerful. There is a sitting room with large comfy leather sofas, a well-equipped fitted kitchen and two spacious bedrooms sharing a bathroom. A particularly attractive feature of this cottage is the sunny, private patio garden, which is a real sun trap and completely enclosed, providing a private spot for catching some rays and enjoying your morning coffee or enjoying alfresco meals. There are a few local shops within a short walk, and plenty of larger supermarkets a short drive away. For tasty carvery lunches, be sure to visit The Hare & Hounds and The Willow Tree, ideal for refuelling after an adventure-filled day. The English Riviera boasts several beaches including Meadfoot Beach and Oddicombe beach in Babbacombe, which is reached by a quirky old cliff railway. Visit Kent’s Cavern, an astonishing series of underground caves, or the Living Coasts Zoo with penguins and puffins, or the amazing Babbacombe Model Village. Further afield, Teignmouth is an old-fashioned seaside town about 20 minutes’ drive away, with a free kid’s playground, old fashioned arcades, and a safe beach near the old harbour. A quiet cottage on a convenient bus route to the Torquay seafront, and an ideal base throughout the year.
