Foxglove Cottage is a lovely Cotswold stone cottage in a row of traditional cottages, located close to the centre of the beautiful village of Blockley. This inviting cottage is ideal for couples or a small family seeking a lovely base from which to explore the Cotswolds.
The quiet road leads you up to the front door of Foxglove Cottage, where you are welcomed into the open-plan living space, where you and your loved ones can lounge into the snug furniture as the room is gently lit and warmed by the woodburning stove that sits within the Cotswold stone fireplace, before you venture into the well-laid out kitchen to prepare an evening meal using the contemporary facilities, and gather round the dining table to enjoy your meal and toast to a wonderful holiday that lies ahead.
Take the conversation outside into the rear garden, and take a seat at the table set, to enjoy the last of the afternoon sun.
When night falls, wander back inside and have a relaxing soak amongst the bubbles in the bath before heading to one of the two bedrooms, both containing double beds, one on the first-floor and one on the second-floor.
Take advantage of your surroundings and explore the picturesque village of Blockley which has a country pub, The Great Western Arms, a historic Norman church, Church of St Peter and St Paul, and the popular community owned shop and café which serves delicious food during the day and hosts a couple of dinner evenings too.
Surrounded by wonderful countryside, there are many walks and cycle routes on its doorstep including The Monarch’s Way long distance walking trail which passes through the village and can be followed either north to Chipping Campden or up and over the ridge towards Moreton-in-Marsh, skirting the fringes of Batsford Arboretum which is a 56-acre garden with trees and shrubs from around the world in the plant centre and a café.
At Foxglove Cottage, you are close to the bustling market town of Stow-on-the-Wold where you can take a walk around the market square, which is the heart of the community and offers boutique shops, tea rooms, pubs and restaurants, as well as the Farmers’ Market which occurs every second Thursday of each month, featuring inviting local produce.
For a getaway to the countryside like no other, stay at Foxglove Cottage.
