For the more active, climb the steep smooth flanks and grassy slopes of Skiddaw, an excellent route for those looking to extend their experience of the higher peaks, or take a neighbouring path into Porthinscale where a ramble to Derwentwater would lead you to a local jetty for a cruise on the lake.
