Situated at the heart of the impressive 700 acre Kimberley estate in Barnham Broom, encompassed by the parkland and pasture, sits 300 year old detached Garden Cottage. Formerly home to the head gardener, the cottage was embellished in 1880 with distinctive Tudor elements, beams and four differing chimney designs. In 1946 the 4th Earl of Kimberley added two wings whilst awaiting improvements to the Hall following occupation by the army during the war, remaining at the cottage until the mid-1950s. Superb for family groups celebrating special occasions. Garden Cottage offers suitable accommodation for all ages and interests. Boasting four super-king beds, that can be converted to twins upon request, everyone is ensured a good night's sleep. Standard double beds feature in the two smaller rooms. The bedrooms are served by three contemporary bathrooms; one featuring Jack-and-Jill arrangement and two bedrooms share the en-suite master bathroom. Having undergone various improvements over the years, Garden Cottage provides several delightful options for where the group can gather and relax. Whether it is the large well-equipped kitchen with range oven, the bright and airy conservatory, the sumptuous sitting room featuring ornate fireplace, or congregated around the spacious twelve-seater dining room table, your guests will be able to find the best spot to suit the occasion. Both the conservatory and the sitting room have direct access to the garden, ideal for parents who wish to offer the children the opportunity to roam safely, while remaining in sight. Start the day with breakfast in the conservatory and you are sure to observe roe deer and muntjac deer grazing in the adjacent fields. For those wishing to bring a horse, stabling and paddocks are also available for booking, upon prior arrangement. Additional Information Two well behaved dogs are welcome (small additional charge). Pillows and duvets are synthetic fibre. Horse paddock available, upon request – subject to availability. There is a private water supply at this property.
