    More Information

Mawgan 1.4 miles. This semi-detached, barn conversion sits on outskirts of Garras, adjoining Mawgan, on the edge of the Lizard Peninsula. Gilly Skyber is set over two floors in a reverse level layout, offering a splendid accommodation for families and couples along with their canine companion. The interior is well thought out and space isn’t an issue, with the large open-plan living space set over the first floor and serving as the social hub of the home. Allow the designated chef to whip up a culinary treat in the kitchen, whilst the dining table is set with crockery and cutlery and a bottle of fizz is opened. After a filling feast, get the woodburning stove roaring and make yourself comfortable upon the sofa, chatting about the holiday itinerary. The bedrooms include a brass king-size and a twin, trimmed with soft red furnishings, which can be set-up as a king-size on request. Awaken from a leisurely slumber and start the morning with a quick shower in the bathroom, before heading outside for some morning light in the lawned garden. The immediate surroundings are rural and green yet there is a shop and pub within a mile and a half. Head in the centre of Helston and treat the group to a meal at one of the many restaurants, pubs, or cafés, including The Coffee Hut, and Ann’s Pasties or the award-winning Gear Farm for traditional pasties. Within the town, take a step back in time as you visit the Museum of Cornish Life and learn about the many stories and legends told in the fascinating Helston Folk Museum. Just a short but scenic drive away, there is a wealth of beaches and coves to discover, including Porthleven Beach, Poldhu Beach, Kennack Sands and Coverack Cove, perfect for an evening stroll and a pint in the harbour. Attractions worth a visit include the family-friendly Roskilly’s Farm, the National Trust site at St Michael’s Mount and the charming town of Porthleven which has fantastic beaches, an attractive harbour and loads of cafes, restaurants, shops, and bars. The popular towns of Falmouth and Porthleven are also within accessible reach, offering plenty of harbourside restaurants and cafes to enjoy. Choose Gilly Skyber for a splendid Cornish escape.
