Refurbished to a high standard, this charming holiday home has plenty of character including original beams and a wood burning stove in the open plan living and dining room. The conservatory is the perfect place to take in the lovely views of the surrounding countryside and relax after a busy day sightseeing. The Shaker style kitchen is fully equipped and there’s a separate utility room perfect for muddy boots. There’s also a ground floor cloakroom with wash basin and WC. The accommodation is laid out over three floors with two boutique hotel style double bedrooms, both with en-suite bathrooms, on the first floor with views out to the Dutton estuary. At the top of the house, there’s a large bedroom with 4 single beds – ideal for children – and a bathroom with bathtub, hand basin and WC.
The garden at Greety Gate House is particularly lovely with a lawn surrounded by mature shrubs and borders, a summerhouse and garden seating to take in the views towards the Duddon Estuary and nearby Black Combe Fell. There are plenty of different areas to explore including the feature pond, and the garden is fully enclosed making it perfect for children and pets. There’s also off road parking for 3 cars.
With plenty of walks and open countryside on the doorstep, plus the lovely village of Broughton in Furness, you won’t have to venture far from Greety Gate House to find something to do. Ideally situated between Lake Windermere and Coniston Water, both a 15-minute drive, the immediate area is filled with family-friendly attractions including Go Ape, the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway, South Lakes Wildlife Park and Aquarium of the Lakes.
