Gobowen 2.2 miles. This delightful cottage is in a rural location surrounded by countryside near the owner’s home just over two miles from the village of Gobowen. The peace and tranquillity of this area is evident as soon as you park your car and this cottage is ideal for a relaxing holiday for a couple or a small family. On the ground floor is a useful utility which also has storage space and makes a handy place to leave your boots after enjoying the many surrounding walks, one of which leads near the property. The open plan living area is contemporary and cosy with a seating area set around an electric stove. The kitchen area is well-equipped and there is plenty of space around the dining table for the whole group. Large full length windows make this a bright and airy room and French doors allow you to bring the outdoors in. Upstairs, the double room has open access to the stairs and a dormer window to let the light in while you might enjoy breakfast in bed. From here is the single room and the family shower room. From the double room a stable door opens out to the raised decked terrace, which can also be accessed externally, which has a table and chairs to allow you to enjoy the fresh air with a glass of wine in the evening. The surrounding countryside is breathtaking and lovely walks and bike rides can be enjoyed along the Shropshire Union Canal. Just a twenty minute walk along the canal from the cottage takes you to the nearest pub, the Jack Mytton Inn (as featured in Celebrity Barging) and the Lion Quays Hotel and Spa is also within walking distance with further facilities being available in the village of Gobowen. Oswestry is nearby and Shrewsbury and Chester are delightful destinations for a day out and about. The popular town of Llangollen can be reached within an half hour drive with its many activities on the River Dee or visit the nearby village of Whittington with its castle. Further afield are Lake Bala and Lake Vyrnwy or visit the magnificent Llanrhaedr waterfall, the highest in Wales. With such a range of attractions in the area, Gwdihw is a fantastic choice.
