Visit the Captain Cook Memorial Museum where you can learn more about Cook through historical and ethnographic exhibitions, or head to the Whitby Museum where you can learn of the enticing history of the town and of course plan days spent on it’s stunning beach, perfect for a day of sandcastle building and watersports in the summer months. Further afield, the breath-taking North York Moors offers a welcome change of scenery, with stunning moorland, ancient abbeys and picturesque villages nestled side by side, it’s well worth a visit.
