More information

This recently renovated, semi-detached cottage is close to the coast in the popular village of Seahouses, within the Northumberland Coast AONB. Hazonleigh is a contemporary property, ideal for a family wanting to discover the coast, as well as being within easy reach of the Northumberland National Park. Enter the property into a spacious open-plan living room, with a neutral and contemporary decor, comprising a stylish, partly-tiled kitchen with all of the mod cons you could dream of to prepare delicious meals that can be enjoyed together at the dining table, and after eating, retire to the sofa and enjoy a film night on the TV in the next room. Upstairs, you will find three good-sized bedrooms with cosy carpets and ample storage space, with a double, twin and single to choose from, all served by a newly renovated family bathroom with shower over bath and an additional shower room with basin and heated towel rail downstairs. Outside, there is off-road parking for two cars, as well as an enclosed lawn and patio garden with bench seating and outdoor furniture, perfect for an alfresco lunch in the sun. The cottage is a short walk away from the centre of Seahouses, with a host of amenities, pubs and eateries, while the coast is just a five-minute walk away. Enjoy a stroll around the idyllic harbour, and hop on a boat out to the Farne Islands, ideal for wildlife lovers, where you can observe birds and seal colonies. Walkers can join the coastal path in either direction to further explore the picturesque coastline; head north to discover miles of magnificent sandy beaches, as well as the village of Bamburgh, which is known for its hilltop castle, overlooking the sea, along with its lighthouse, museums and golf club, while heading south along the coast will take you to the fishing village of Craster, with its lovely family-friendly beach and nearby attraction of the 14th century Dunstanburgh Castle, owned by the National Trust. The market town of Alnwick is slightly further afield but well worth visiting, with its recognisable castle, used as the setting of Hogwarts in the Harry Potter film series, surrounded by magnificent gardens that visitors are welcome to explore. The picturesque countryside of the Northumberland National Park is a short drive away, offering magnificent walking and cycling trails through rolling hills, heather-clad moorland and enchanting forest, and at night offers truly incredible stargazing opportunities, with its Dark Skies status. Hazonleigh is a wonderful base for discovering the coast and countryside of Northumberland.
