Sedbergh 3.5 miles. This magnificent, detached farmhouse, with its own private leisure centre, is set in five acres of its own grounds on a high hillside above the Lune Valley, just three and a half miles from Sedbergh and ten miles from Kirkby Lonsdale. A most enviable location with five acres of its own grounds, direct access to open and dramatic moorland including Barbon Fell and magnificent all-round views of this beautiful corner of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Transformed in 2008 from a former farmhouse, no expense was spared in creating this three-storey holiday home, with high tech installations throughout, integrated sound systems, sophisticated lighting systems, modern building techniques, underfloor heating throughout and the latest in solar power which all go together to provide a holiday home of considerable merit. Featuring a first-class purpose-built leisure facility which takes up the whole of the lower ground floor. Again, little expense has been spared in setting up this first-rate facility which includes a fabulous fifteen metre heated swimming pool, a separate steam room and sauna, a built in sunken seven-seater Jacuzzi and a spiral staircase leads down to a small yoga/pilates area. The whole area is detailed with a polished stone tiled surround with a delightful seating area, a reflective bespoke ceiling, integrated lighting systems and the full-length windows afford excellent views across the Lune valley. The main entrance leads through into a generously proportioned kitchen, fitted to a very high specification with polished granite worktops, limestone tiling, a Rangemaster 3 cooker with gas hob and hot plate, Belfast sink and adjoining pantry with impressive drinks fridge. The adjoining dining room enjoys twin French doors out onto a south facing sun terrace. A large space able to seat the group in comfort and an ideal location to enjoy a sumptuous, cooked meal, relax and take in the wonderful views. An open hallway with full length windows, a beautiful limestone floor and gallery leads guests through to a comfortable snug with stylish furniture, a welcoming wood-burner and patio doors leading out onto the main south facing patio area. A great spot to open a bottle of your favourite tipple and catch up with old friends. The main living area, which is of generous proportion with a fine feature carved stone fire surround fitted with a multi-fuel stove, beautiful oak flooring, a piano for the talented ones in the group and a range of stylish furnishings to create a great space to sit and relax after a hard day’s walking on the nearby moorland. On the first floor there are six impeccably-designed bedrooms, all with wonderful far reaching views, a feature Juliet balcony in one, old beams, oak flooring and luxurious en-suites, whilst the ground floor bedroom has an adjoining shower room making it the perfect choice for anyone with limited mobility. The main house bathroom boasts a free-standing slipper bath and separate wet room shower facility. A useful boot room provides a good drying area, a utility area with washer dryer, a useful basin and there is a cloakroom in the main galleried hallway. Outside, there is a spacious parking area, formal gardens, three separate seating areas providing havens of peace and quiet and lovely lawned areas to enjoy a picnic whilst admiring the 360-degree views, watching the local farmers tending their cattle and spring lambs. Ideal for discovering Wainwright’s beloved Howgills, the nearby Cautley Spout, Britain’s highest waterfall, and dramatic Dentdale, while the local area is home to many varieties of wildlife including buzzards and deer. The small town of Sedbergh, home to the much-loved Farfield Mill art gallery and your local amenities including a convenience store, pubs and restaurants, and the attractive market town of Kirkby Lonsdale are a short drive away, while the Lune Valley, the fascinating White Scar Cave, Ingleton Waterfalls Walk and Wensleydale creamery are all within easy reach of both the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales National Parks. High Fellside, a stunning location offering excellent holiday accommodation with everything you could wish for.
