Sedbergh 3.5 miles. A magnificent renovation of a stone detached barn, with its own private leisure facilities, set in two acres of its own grounds on a high hillside above the Lune Valley, just three and a half miles from Sedbergh and ten miles from Kirkby Lonsdale. A most enviable location with direct access to open and dramatic moorland including Barbon Fell and magnificent all-round views of this beautiful corner of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Fully rebuilt in 2019 from a former barn, no expense was spared in creating this luxurious holiday home, with high tech installations throughout, integrated Sonos sound systems throughout including the hot tub and bowling green area, high tech internet Tv’s with sound systems, traditional and modern building techniques, underfloor heating throughout and the latest in solar power which all go together to provide a holiday home of considerable merit. Again, little expense has been spared in setting up the leisure facilities with a superb state of the art hot tub with automated temperature control, self-cleaning, self- and water quality checking all incorporated. An international standard bowling green, with probably some of the best views in Lakeland, a relaxing sauna and top of the range pool table ensure that guests have a wonderful and varied set of amenities to enhance their luxury break in this beautiful holiday retreat. The main entrance leads into an open plan living area with adjoining snug. The main living room is furnished to a very high standard with beautiful tiling and underfloor heating, a modern double sided wood burning stove as the main focal point of the room, a piano to enjoy a family sing along and patio doors with far reaching views of the surrounding countryside. Continuing through the room the main dining area contains an Indonesian wood table, ideal for sitting down and enjoying a special meal with the group. The adjoining kitchen is state of the art, with high spec fittings including an instant hot water system, a Rangemaster 3 cooker with gas hob and hot plate, electric drinks fridge, centre island, marble worktops and bi fold doors leading out onto the spacious garden area. There are two ground-floor bedrooms, one with a wet room, so those with limited mobility can stay here too and the second bedroom provides a perfect family room with four single beds, ensuite and access to the ground floor wet room. The main oak staircase leads up to the first-floor mezzanine area with glass balcony where far-reaching views of the Howgills can be enjoyed whilst enjoying a gentle and relaxing game of pool. The sauna is just off the mezzanine area and provides a great place to relax after a hard day on the nearby fells. The master bedroom is a remarkably large room with beautiful A frame beams showcasing a wealth of character and offers an ensuite bathroom with a corner bath to enjoy a luxurious soak at the end of a tiring day. A further three bedrooms on this floor, all with ensuites and luxurious beds put the icing on the cake for this wonderful and very special holiday accommodation. Step outside to discover a large, enclosed garden, with plenty of lawn and patio area to sit out with a refreshing drink in the afternoon sun and simply delight in those 270-degree mountain views or enjoy a spot of alfresco dining with the built-in BBQ. Also take a cool dip in the large hot tub and let those bubbling jets work their magic on your tired muscles or enjoy a bowling competition on the full-size, international standard bowling green, whilst taking in some of the finest views in the National Park. Ideal for discovering Wainwright’s beloved Howgills, the nearby Cautley Spout, Britain’s highest waterfall, the dramatic Dentdale, the fascinating White Scar Caves, the stunning Ingleton Waterfalls Walk, and the popular Wensleydale Creamrery, while the local area is home to many varieties of wildlife including buzzards and deer. The small town of Sedbergh is where you will find your local amenities, including a well-stocked convenience store, and the welcoming pubs and restaurants of The Thirsty Rambler, The Red Lion, and The Black Bull Inn, as well as the popular Fairfield Mill. The attractive market town of Kirkby Lonsdale is just a short drive away, while the Lune Valley is within easy reach of both the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales National Parks.
