The local bustling market town of Rhayader is less than two miles away, where you can sit and enjoy its restaurants and cafes or head off into the Cambrian Mountains and spend a day exploring the Elan Valley, with its imposing Victorian dams and reservoirs. Enjoy nearby nature reserves or marvel at the ‘dark skies’. Builth Wells, famous for the Royal Welsh Show is 17 miles away. Alternatively, if you fancy a complete change of scene, within an hours drive you could visit the Victorian seaside resort of Aberystwyth on the West Wales coast or take a day trip further north to the National Trusts Powis Castle, a medieval castle, providing a dramatic backdrop for its celebrated gardens.
