Holly Cottage is a beautiful stone-built cottage nestled into the rural scenery of Ailsaby, with a local pub, close by walks through the North York Moors National Park, and access to the coast. With many close by towns to explore, this abode is a tranquil base for a couple or family to explore North Yorkshire. Park up and be welcomed by the pretty stone-built exterior of this property, where you will find a front garden ideal for picnics in the sunshine. There is also a rear courtyard for bike and watersport equipment storage. The cottage encourages guests to cook in the contemporary kitchen, offering plenty of amenities, and enjoy their meal in the sitting/dining room. This space also boasts a glowing woodburning stove beside sofas, where guests can recline of an evening and reflect on the day’s events. When sleep calls, freshen up in the ground-floor shower room, before cosying up for the night in one of the two well-presented bedrooms, choosing between a double with en-suite shower room, and a twin. This delightful abode rests in the peaceful village of Aislaby, a traditional North Yorkshire settlement perched above the Esk Valley, where stone cottages, winding lanes and open countryside create a calm, rural atmosphere. The village is home to a welcoming local pub, ideal for strolling over for a relaxed drink after a day outdoors, and is well placed for scenic walks that weave through rolling fields and offer far-reaching views across the surrounding landscape. From Aislaby, footpaths and quiet routes lead down into the Esk Valley, making it an excellent base for walkers looking to explore at a gentler pace before returning to the comfort of the village. A short drive away, Whitby offers a change of scene, with its lively harbour, independent shops and inviting eateries, including bookshops, vintage stores and fossil-hunting favourites. Wander along the pier, explore the bustling harbour or spend time on the sandy beach, before climbing up to Whitby Abbey, a striking clifftop ruin steeped in history and famously linked to Bram Stoker’s Dracula. The nearby Cinder Track provides a traffic-free route through countryside and former railway land, leading all the way to Scarborough for those seeking a longer adventure, while the North York Moors National Park lies within easy reach, offering wide open landscapes, wildlife-rich trails and endless opportunities for walking and exploration. With its village setting and access to coast, countryside and moorland, there is so much to enjoy during a stay at Holly Cottage.
