A modern log cabin in an ideal location for exploring the North Lakes, Holmedell is four miles from the village of Greystoke, just a 15 minute drive to Penrith and a 30 minute drive to Keswick. At the heart of a quiet development, in a privileged spot overlooking the central pond at Duke’s Meadow, this stylish lodge is ideal for a family holiday at any time of year. When you enter the lodge, you walk straight into a hallway and then into a large and very contemporary open plan living area with comfortable leather sofas, a dining area for four and a well laid out and fully equipped kitchen. There’s a TV with integrated DVD player and Bluetooth speakers, plus a feature electric fire for those chillier evenings. The accommodation is all on one level and is completed by a double bedroom with TV and DVD player and its own stylish en-suite shower room with hand basin and WC, plus a twin bedroom also with TV/DVD and with lovely views over the pond. There’s also a separate family bathroom with bathtub, shower over, basin with vanity unit and WC. Occupying a favoured location at the centre of the park, you’ll enjoy relaxing on the decked veranda with its table and chairs after a busy day in the Lakes. Or enjoy the view from waterside in the gravel garden area with further seating – an ideal spot for watching the birds and red squirrels that are frequent visitors. With bustling Keswick with its shops, galleries, pubs and restaurants within driving distance, and breathtaking Ullswater just a 10-minute drive away, there’s plenty to do within easy reach of Duke’s Pond Lodge. The surrounding countryside, including nearby Greystoke forest, is all easily accessible and there are plenty of opportunities for walks from the relaxing to the more energetic! Ideal for exploring the North Lakes and Eden Valley, with its lakes, mountains and vibrant small towns, Duke’s Pond Lodge is easily accessible from the M6. Enjoy mountain biking, fell walking and kayaking and sailing or for a more leisurely exploration of the Lakes, enjoy a cruise on one of the much-loved steamers across Lake Windermere or Derwentwater. The Lake District is also a gastronomic paradise with superb local produce and some of the best fine dining in the entire country. There’s no wonder the Lake District is a world heritage site. For a Lakeland countryside holiday in contemporary style at any time of year, Duke’s Pond Lodge ticks all the boxes.
