Housesteads is set in the village of Wark, adjacent to the River North Tyne in Northumberland, and is a delightful family-friendly and pet friendly two bedroom duplex. With off-road parking for one car this property is positioned close to nearby shops and pubs, and is the ideal base for family or friends looking to explore this area and the Northumberland National Park. Come inside and curl up on one of the sumptuous velvet sofas with a good book. Enjoy a board game with the family or watch a film on the Smart TV. Prepare supper in the large fully equipped kitchen with an electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer and microwave, and sit down to enjoy over a glass or two at the dining table while making plans for the holiday. At the end of the day climb the stairs to the large king-size bedroom and smaller bunk room to catch your rest. Patio doors from the living area downstairs open out directly onto the communal south facing garden space with outdoor furniture and firepit where you can enjoy a drink at the end of the day. In the summer months a licensed bar is available for guests. A walk into the heart of Wark will bring you to the Premier Convenience or Wark Post Office, where you can stock up on homely essentials, as well as the Battlesteads Hotel & Restaurant and The Grey Bull Inn, which both serve up hearty pub grub for when you fancy taking a break from cooking. Just two miles away you can discover what the dark night skies have to offer at the Battlesteads dark sky observatory. A brief car journey south of your lodgings will bring you to Hexham, where you can find the lush greens of Hexham Park, the Hexham Old Gaol museum, as well as the Corbridge Roman Town. Alternatively, a car trip north will take you into the wonderful Kielder Forest Park, where you can embark on a hike through Hareshaw Linn Waterfall, roam the grounds of the Vindolanda, and even get up close and personal with birds of prey at the Falconry Days safari park. Whatever you age or ability you will never be short of things to do and see when you take your well-earned break at Housesteads.
