Resting within the oldest part of Troutbeck Bridge in a small enclave of character properties is this 18th century cottage, Jasmine Cottage. Appealing to couples or a small family, this property rests in an ideal location between Ambleside and Windermere, perfect for holidaymakers seeking a quiet location well away from passing traffic but with all the main Lake District sights easily at hand. Enter the cottage from the back door into the open-plan kitchen where you can make use of the integrated appliances and whip up a hearty breakfast or sumptuous feast. Head into the sitting area for an evening on the sofa, complemented with a glass of wine while you discuss the plans for the rest of the week. As the evening draws to a close, upstairs awaits a double bedroom and a single bedroom with deep set windows that offer idyllic views of the surrounding greenery. Step outside and spend a moment at the garden table and chairs before taking a stroll down to the shores of Lake Windermere where you can admire views of the water, or venture slightly further afield to the town of Windermere for a selection of eateries, as well as shops for picking up any essentials. A trip to the Lake District wouldn’t be complete without a cruise on board the historic steamers which stop off at several towns and villages around the lake. Catch one of these boats to Lakeside to visit the Lakes Aquarium and marvel at the fascinating underwater creatures, or head to Bowness-on-Windermere to see The World of Beatrix Potter Experience, a great choice for those with little ones, and discover the historic Ambleside Roman Fort in Ambleside for history lovers. For those keen walkers, look forward to climbing the Claife Heights, the Langdale Pikes, Helvellyn, The Old Man of Coniston, or travel further afield to climb the highest mountain in England, Scafell Pike. Why not plan a day out to Keswick, home to some fascinating attractions such as the Derwent Pencil Museum and Puzzling Place – an optical illusions & artwork exhibition. At the end of a busy fun-filled day, look forward to returning to the comfort of Jasmine Cottage in the Lake District.
