Lapford 4.1 miles. Surrounded by the rolling hills of north Devon, Lake View is a beautifully-designed, Grade II listed barn conversion resting in East Worlington near Lapford. The property welcomes a family or group of eight to celebrate a special occasion in a delightful setting, with an open-plan living space, bedrooms with en-suites and family-friendly amenities including a games room. Guests will have access to a newly added games room (shared with another property within the grounds) between 10.00hrs and 22.00hrs daily – there is a pool table, darts and Air Hockey (please note there is a small charge for Air Hockey). Off-road parking for three cars ensures an easy arrival to admire your picture-perfect home-from-home nestled in a rural paradise; the barn has been thoughtfully restored to complement its rustic character with contemporary comforts throughout. Enter into the porch after a country walk, with an old church pew to sit and take off your boots and hooks for coats, as well as a convenient ground-floor shower room to wash the dogs! Wooden beams, exposed stone walls and country furnishings make for a unique living space in the heart of the property, where guests can make cooking a joint effort in the spacious, well-equipped kitchen area with a double electric oven and hob, large American fridge-freezer and a dishwasher for a fuss-free clean up; don’t forget to pop your favourite bottles in the wine cooler ready for an after-dinner tipple! Serve meals at the large dining table for eight, the perfect spot for a hearty breakfast with gorgeous country views from two bifold doors. Open them up during the summer months to let the fresh air in, or why not dine alfresco at the outdoor seating? There’s plenty of lawn space in the enclosed garden for dogs and little ones to play, whilst the hot tub beckons you to unwind in the bubbles and destress. Escape down to the bottom of the garden where you will find a fantastic new BBQ hut, seating in the region of 12-15 people – here you can enjoy a BBQ in a completely different atmosphere with family and friends whatever the weather. As the night draws in, gather in the sitting area for a movie night on the TV, complete with Sky to catch up on your favourite shows, or choose from a selection of books and games to keep the whole group entertained. Ensuring a comfortable self-catering stay, Lake View also hosts a utility room with a washing machine and tumble dryer, so you can spend more time relaxing. Each guest can enjoy a uniquely styled bedroom with a contemporary en-suite and storage space in this fantastic property; a ground-floor super-king-size is ideal for elderly guests or those with limited mobility, whilst three more bedrooms can be found upstairs, including a super-king-size with a Juliet balcony overlooking the lake, another king-size and a twin. If you can tear yourself away from your holiday sanctuary, there are a number of good pubs in the region. The Mitre Inn in Witheridge is just over 4 miles away, ideal to enjoy a drink and dinner out, whilst the nearby village of Lapford hosts a 16th-century pub The Old Malt Scoop Inn, as well as a convenient store to stock up on the essentials; this ancient village can be traced back to the Iron Age Celts and is now a pleasant base for tourists, with open spaces for ball games and a children’s playground. Pack your clubs to test your swing at nearby Chumleigh pay and play golf club or take a leisurely stroll through the spacious Shobrooke Park in nearby Crediton and find the perfect picnic spot.South Molton is a lovely historic market town to visit with charming shops ad antique emporiums as well as a fabulous weekly market on Thursdays and Saturdays. There is also the Eggesford Railway line which takes you to Barnstaple or Exeter Central and passes through the Tarka Trail. Budding historians will find plenty of delights in Tiverton, including artefacts to discover at the many rooms of Tiverton Castle, and the vast, gothic Knightshayes Court surrounded by formal gardens and woodland; visit Tiverton Museum Of Mid Devon Life to soak up local history, before dining at one of the many eateries. The ancient city of Exeter is a must-visit during your stay for an abundance of attractions, including Royal Albert Memorial Museum and Art Gallery, tour through the fascinating Underground Passages, and marvel at the 11th-century Exeter Castle that often hosts concerts and events in the courtyard. With so much to explore from a wonderful holiday home, treat your loved ones to an unforgettable stay at Lake View.
