The Aquarium of the Lakes is here too as is a small passenger ferry to take you across the lake to Fell Foot Park which belongs to The National Trust. Longer walks could take you to the village of Finsthwaite and to the beautiful lakes at High Dam. The National Trust sites of Hill Top, home to Beatrix Potter, and Wray Castle also make family-friendly days out as does Holker Hall near Cartmel and Sizergh Castle.
