Escape to this large, luxurious, pet friendly unique home ideally situated on the Devon/Cornwall borders to explore the north and south coasts with Dartmoor being only 15 miles away. Your holiday home is situated in a quiet rural central location. The large barn conversion originally a cow shed has vaulted ceilings, exposed beams, a bar and an inviting woodburner for those cosy evenings in (logs and alcohol not provided!) Attempting to mix styles including gothic, medieval and fantasy creating a strikingly plush, fun space to stay. There is a four poster double bed in the large cherub and Putto inspired master bedroom.
The garden extending to around half an acre has various places to sit and relax from morning to dusk watching the spectacular sunsets and enjoy the view. Amidst an abundance of nature including amazing bird life including owls, kingfishers, herons, woodpeckers, buzzards, you might be lucky to spot the odd stag or deer. With no light or air pollution on a clear night you will see some amazing stars including the Milky Way.
The original farmstead dates back to at least 1066 and has had a number of prestigious custodians including Lord Ashburton (the High Sheriff of Cornwall), and Lord Ostephan.
The Lazy Hare is in a central location for sightseeing historical, spiritual and scenic highlights including Tintagel, St Nechtan’s Glen, Lydford Gorge and Boscastle to name but a few. The nearest beach being about half an hour away.
The village of St Giles on the Heath within walking distance of a mile has a friendly village shop and pub.
Launceston, once the county town of Cornwall is known as the gateway to Cornwall has the remains of a Castle built c. 1070 and a small steam railway which runs 2.5 miles from the town to Newmills. Roadford Lake is close by, a great area for walking dogs with a cafe and boasts the largest sporting lake in the South West there are many activities to indulge in, including water sports, fishing and archery.
There are EV charging points located around five miles away where you can enjoy a coffee or even a meal at the local farm shop or garden centre.
