Explore the ancient ruins of Grimspound, dating back to the late Bronze Age. From here, make your way up to Hookney Tor for breath-taking panoramic views; a true gem of Dartmoor National Park. The Warren House Inn (iconic, remote, historic Dartmoor pub (where the fire continually burns) is a beautiful walk across the moors from Lingcombe Barn, The walk is approx. 2- 3 miles. Lingcombe Barn is on the very edge of the moor. The Mariners Way which is a long distance foot path runs past the property which forms part of the Two Moors Way long distance foot path. Take a glimpse into the past at Bennett’s Cross, an authentic example of a wayside cross. Admire the circular spectacle of Fernworthy Stone Circle, another testament to the rich history of the area. On your way back, a visit to the mysterious Grey Wethers, a pair of stone circles, will be the perfect finish to your day of exploration.
