Ventnor 1.7 miles. Lisle Combe Cottage is a picturesque stone cottage hidden away on The Undercliff between St Lawrence and Ventnor, on the south coast of the Isle of Wight. As you step out of your car, you will feel a sense of calm at the sheer beauty and utter tranquillity of your surroundings. Inside, Lisle Combe Cottage is full of original character and charm, with beamed ceilings throughout the ground floor and stunning views from the spacious dining room, sitting room, and kitchen. The kitchen is contemporary and has been cleverly designed to complement the many features of the original cottage. Upstairs, there are two bedrooms, both with stunning coastal views. The larger bedroom has a super king-size bed, with the zip/link function of becoming two singles, while the other houses one adult single bed and one suitable for a child. The garden is private and extremely pretty, with mature shrubs and trees all around. Look out towards the horizon and you will see the green pastureland giving way to the bluest of seas, where shoals of fish glisten in the sun. The cottage is a short walk from the wonderful Ventnor Botanic Garden, which benefits from the Undercliffs Mediterranean climate, enabling many varieties of worldwide subtropical and temperate plants to thrive here. As well as having a very popular café/restaurant, the gardens hold many exhibitions and events throughout the year. Just a 15-minute walk along the coastal path will bring you to the island’s hidden treasure, Steephill Cove, where you can swim safely and stroll along its sand and shingle beach. Watch the fisherman launch their boats, or sit on the beach enjoying a crab sandwich, while watching some of the island’s most spectacular sunsets. Lisle Combe Cottage makes a wonderful cottage, perfect for families exploring the Isle of Wight, all year round.
