The entrance of the beautiful Castle Woods is also in the town, meander through the leafy forest to find stunning views across the Towy Valley and the ruins of the 12th century Dinefwr Castle. Take a scenic drive across to the Brecon Beacons National Park to discover a wealth of market towns, heritage sites and a myriad of walks and trails designed to be explored including Carmarthen Fan and Black Mountain; the brave among you may even try to summit Pen Y Fan where you can marvel at picturesque panoramas across the Welsh countryside. Venture further afield to find the coast at Llansteffan or head north to experience the beaches overlooking Cardigan Bay which offer opportunities to spot dolphins in the bay.
