With beautiful county views and sleeping up the three guests, Lucy’s Cottage is a delightful setting for a couple or a small family to discover this part of Dumfries and Galloway. The property boasts a traditional living/dining room with a large leather sofa, a recliner armchair and a warming open fire in a brick fire place surrounding a TV which has Sky and a DVD player, as well as stylish wooden dining table where all guests can sit to enjoy an evening meal. Moving through the property there is a downstairs bathroom with WC, and a kitchen which has a handy washing machine and dishwasher so guests can feel at ease on their holidays. Moving upstairs there is a spacious super-king-size bedroom which can also be a twin to allow flexible sleeping arrangements, a single bedroom with storage for guests to unpack, and a blue bathroom with both bath and shower so guests can get ready in their own style. Outside there is private parking on a gravel driveway, a fishing shed with a fridge/freezer for bait and hooks for fishing poles, as well as a garden with lawn for your furry friend to play and a patio with a picnic bench so you can enjoy breakfast in the fresh country air. The small village of Canonbie has the lovely River Esk running through, take a short 15 minute walk to the local pub, The Cross Keys, and relax with refreshments. Langholm has shops for any self-catering essentials, pubs and takeaways for if you don’t fancy an evening in the kitchen, and Castleholm Country Park which is a great spot for a picnic or a stroll with your dog. Dumfries offers some interesting attractions such as the 15th century Devorgilla Bridge which has scenic views of the River Nith, the house of Scottish poet, Robert Burns, which is now a historic attraction with exhibits, museums and the delightful Dock Park which has river views and a mini golf course.
