    More Information

Aughrim 2.3 miles. Just outside the Village of Aughrim lies the town land of Macreddin, home to Macreddin Rock Holiday Cottage, a quaint ground floor holiday home. Complete with high-quality appliances and bright, light decor, this property is ideal for a family trip to the countryside or some walking friends who want to explore. Step through the front door and come straight into the open-plan living space where you will look forward to spending your mornings and evenings planning your activities and relaxing after long days outdoors. The sitting area centres around the electric fire and TV, benefiting from two sofas and an armchair so everyone has space to unwind. The kitchen has a good range of appliances and is renovated to a very high standard, so when you have made a delicious meal for the family you can serve it up on the dining table for everyone to gather around and enjoy. Two bedrooms lie at the back of the property, one being a double with its very own en-suite bathroom featuring a bath with shower over, basin and WC, while the other bedrooms is a family room containing a double and a single bed. Serving this room is the state-of-the-art wet room, which has a walk-in shower, basin and WC so is ideal for those less able as well. When the sun is shining, sit outside in the garden and enjoy a refreshing cold drink while you let the children run around, or step out first thing in the morning with a coffee. Just a few minutes down the road from this delightful property is BrookLodge, a renowned eco-minded hotel and leisure complex, home to four restaurants and a pub all serving organic food and drinks, when you want to enjoy a special evening out with your loved ones. The town of Aughrim a few miles down the road is where you can find local shops and pubs, with footpaths and walks beginning from all around you, you won’t have to go far to start your Irish adventure. Local attractions include Macreddin Golf course designed by Paul McGinley, and Greenan Maze, a large hedgerow maze for you to find your way around, as well as farm animals to see and a smaller maze and play area for the little ones. Also a very popular destination not to be missed is Glendalough, meaning “Valley of two lakes”, which is a glacial valley in County Wicklow, renowned for an Early Medieval monastic settlement founded in the 6th century by St Kevin – from 1825 to 1957, the head of the Glendalough Valley was the site of a galena lead mine, and today Glendalough is also a recreational area for picnics, for walking along networks of maintained trails of varying difficulty, and also for rock-climbing. Macreddin Rock Holiday Cottage is a beautiful property set amongst the wonderful Irish countryside bursting with opportunities to enjoy a break away.
