Visit Claggan Island, reached by a narrow causeway, with its golden sands. Motor south through Ballycroy National Park and arrive at beautiful Mulranny. Here you may join the Greenway, a walking and cycling track that runs from Castlebar town to stunning Achill Island. A visit to The Ceide Fields at nearby Ballycastle is a must, where neolithic landscapes and a visitor centre highlight the trials and tribulations of past generations. Travel the dramatic northern coast of County Mayo with wonderful sea cliffs and sea stacks at Downpatrick Head and arrive in the Quaint little town of Killala. Return to McGuire’s cottage in the evenings, kick off the shoes and relax. This is a wonderful base to explore this stunning part of County Mayo.
