The hamlet of Gayle is famous for Gayle Mill, which is thought to be the oldest structurally unaltered cotton mill in existence, with this cottage having links to the mill due to the fact that it was formally owned by the Anderson family, who were the last owners of the mill before it was renovated. Nearby Hawes is a popular holiday destination with a wide range of amenities including shops, pubs and tea rooms and the not-to-be-missed Wensleydale Creamery, which is just a short stroll from the doorstep. With great walks from the doorstep, this is an ideal cottage for that long-awaited break in the country and a perfect place for a romantic getaway.
