Millstream, situated in pretty gardens, is an attractive, detached two bedroom bungalow offering comfortable, high quality accommodation for those seeking a relaxing holiday within a short walk of the local village and amenities. Located on the outskirts of the pretty East Devon village of Colyton, with its tearooms, shops and traditional pubs, this property is ideally situated for enjoying all that this lovely part of the English countryside has to offer. The light and airy lounge/dining room features patio doors leading out onto a spacious south-facing terrace which overlooks a babbling former millstream. The main bedroom has a Super king size bed (single duvets can be requested) and there is a second smaller single bedroom.
The ancient village of Colyton was established in Saxon times. The picturesque Axe River and estuary is also very nearby amidst the unspoilt countryside. This Area is a haven for walkers and the famous South West Coast Path lies close by with spectacular views across Lyme Bay. The local villages are fortunate to have a good choice of public houses, offering a selection of locally sourced produce and local beers. The Axe Estuary Wetlands, a well-managed wildlife reserve is a very short drive away where a large number of birds congregate to feed on the mud flats and salt marshes and these can be viewed at close quarters from one of many hides strategically located along the reserve.
A short drive away are the popular coastal towns of Seaton, Beer, Charmouth, Lyme Regis and West Bay. The popular Seaton Tramway, running along the Axe estuary, stops nearby offering a relaxing way to discover the local area. The whole of the Jurassic Coast, now a World Heritage site, is within easy reach and the lovely West Dorset seaside town of Lyme Regis is only 15 minutes away by car with its sandy beach and seafront promenade. The town includes celebrity chef Mark Hix's superb Oyster and Fish Restaurant, along with many other restaurants, cafes, pubs and tearooms.

The Medieval market town of Colyton is situated just 3 miles from the stunning Jurassic Coast at Seaton. There is a seasonal tramway that links Colyton to Seaton, running alongside the beautiful River Axe wetlands, which is home to an abundance of wildlife, providing visitors with an enjoyable ride and easy access to the natural wonders of the World Heritage coastline.
Colyton’s winding lanes, historical buildings, and bustling market place boast a wide variety of independent shops, cafés, bars and restaurants, making the town a great location for shopping and eating out. Surrounded by an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Colyton is the perfect setting out point for walking, cycling and exploring picturesque East Devon and neighbouring Dorset by car too.
As a gateway to the Jurassic Coast, nearby Seaton is a great spot for water sports, fishing, and many other traditional seaside activities, including viewing the magnificent coastline from the cliffs on the ever-popular South West Coast Path.
Slightly further afield, but still within a short drive of Colyton, you’ll find the Cathedral City of Exeter, the Georgian resort of Sidmouth, the quaint fishing village of Beer, and the lively seaside town of Lyme Regis. This traditional seaside resort is a great spot to try your luck at fossil hunting, enjoy the beach, stroll along the famous Cobb, or treat yourself to a meal at one of the many bars, cafés and restaurants that line the seafront promenade.
A holiday cottage in Colyton provides an excellent base from which to enjoy the coastal and rural charms of East Devon and neighbouring Dorset.

Please note: Colyton Carnival Week is usually held around the second week of September with various events held throughout. A travelling funfair will be operating in the field adjacent to this property on some evenings during Carnival Week. The field also operates as a small Caravan Club touring site during the season.
