This pretty, characterful detached stone cottage rests in an idyllic setting within the hamlet of North Willingham in the Lincolnshire Wolds, an area of outstanding natural beauty, just a few miles from Market Rasen.
Old Blacksmiths Cottage has charming character features including original beams, exposed stone walls and original brick fireplace, offering a romantic and cosy base for couples and a perfect base for lone travellers too, ideal for exploring this beautiful region of Lincolnshire.
Enter directly into the open-plan living space which is presented in a country farmhouse style with compact kitchen amenities, including a gas oven and fridge.
Enjoy a meal and a glass of wine at the bistro style table and relax in the comfy armchairs by the wood burning stove pondering on the day’s adventures.
As your eyes begin to close, move upstairs to the charming cottage bedroom with sloped ceilings, exposed timber beams and a double bed. Here you can switch off and enjoy a good night’s sleep or enjoy a refreshing shower in the en-suite.
Balmy evenings can be enjoyed in the pretty and secluded garden with table and chairs, romantic arbour bench seat, and plenty of room for your four-legged friend to explore.
Get to know your surroundings as you embark on a countryside footpath and enjoy the spectacular scenery and gently rolling hills right on your doorstep.
Old Blacksmiths cottage is an ideal base for keen walkers and cyclists with miles of walking and cycling trails to explore including the long distance scenic Viking Way footpath which you can access at nearby Tealby, Walesby or Ludford. Visit nearby Willingham Woods, a large complex of pine woods, or follow the footpath opposite the cottage, across fields to the charming village of Tealby, home to the Kings Head, the oldest thatched pub in Lincolnshire.
Wrights of Willingham Ice Cream Parlour and Tea Room is within close walking distance of the property and there you can enjoy delicious ice creams made on the farm using fresh milk.
The nearby market town of Market Rasen is just 4 miles away and home to an array of shops, pubs, restaurants and cafés, a scenic and challenging golf course and the famous Market Rasen National Hunt Racecourse.
For a change of scenery, the beautiful historic market towns of Louth and Horncastle are a short drive away and for motoring enthusiasts the famous motor racing circuit Cadwell Park is only 13 miles away.
Within easy reach is the historic city of Lincoln with its cobbled streets and famous Steep Hill, magnificent Gothic cathedral, Lincoln Castle and its medieval wall walk, Marina waterfront area and vibrant shopping areas.
