More information

The Old Cider Press is a stunning conversion which has transformed a humble farm building into stylish, spacious accommodation in a lovely East Devon setting. Finished to a high standard, the cottage features a beautiful dual-sided log burner, separating its large open-plan kitchen-diner from the spacious yet cosy sitting room, where French doors open onto a private patio with barbecue. A master bedroom, complete with en suite, Juliette balcony and countryside views, promises restful nights’ sleep, while a king bedroom, twin room and family bathroom complete the accommodation.

The whole of the Jurassic Coast (including Seaton, Beer and Sidmouth), now a World Heritage site, is within easy reach, and the lovely West Dorset seaside town of Lyme Regis is only about 15 minutes away by car. The popular Seaton Tramway, running along the Axe estuary, stops nearby offering a relaxing way to discover the local area. Walkers will be spoilt for choice with many wonderful inland footpaths nearby, as well as the stunning South West Coast Path running along this section of the Jurassic Coast.

For more space, please also see HOLLIE COTTAGE, and ROSE COTTAGE, which sleep two guests in each.

Please note in the 2027 season there will be parking for two cars.

The local area

Conveniently placed for all the local attractions and surrounded by rolling Dorset countryside, Colyford’s pretty thatched and stone cottages hug the road between Sidmouth and Lyme Regis.

A thriving village with post office, butchers, café and two excellent pubs, Colyford has the Jurassic Coast World Heritage site and all its attractions on the doorstep. The Seaton Tramway which runs the length of the Axe Estuary stops nearby and is a fabulous way to explore the area. Hop off at Seaton Wetlands to spend some time with the family spotting rare bird and wildlife. Or travel down the line to the seaside town of Seaton itself to discover its lovely beaches, shops, restaurants and attractions. Seaton is also an ideal place to pick up the South West Coast Path to discover the area’s stunning coastal scenery and stretch those legs in the process.

Holidays in Colyford are perfect for food lovers too, with Hugh Fearnley-Wittingstall’s River Cottage cookery school and restaurant just a few miles to the north in Axminster where you’ll also find the Axe Valley Wildlife Park and lots more to see and do.
