    More Information

This endearing little cottage, has been creatively converted from an old joiners shop, in the charming seaside village of Staithes. Small but perfectly formed, it provides the perfect romantic retreat for couples wishing to explore this beautiful heritage coastline. Quietly tucked away, it has a bright and cheerful open plan living area, with a modern kitchen and comfortable seating, along with a state of the art electric feature fire, that crackles and creates a lovely ambiance to the property. French doors throw in plenty of light and open onto a stone terrace, where you can sit and relax with a glass of wine and watch the boats bobbing about in the water. With lovely views of the estuary from all windows and quality furnishings, the Old Joiner’s Shop can’t fail to please. Every bit of space has been cleverly utilised, with quirky hiddden cupboards and shelves, along with a bespoke sliding door to the bedroom and the contemporary shower room, with a large walk-in shower. A two-minute walk brings you to the local inns, tea rooms and shops of this quaint, atmospheric village, where the old fishermen’s cottages slope down towards the sea. Wander around the cobbled streets and narrow alleyways, or take a stroll beside the harbour or an invigorating clifftop walk along the Cleveland Way. The Staithes Heritage Centre Museum is also well worth a visit, with its exhibits and information on Captain Cook, who lived in the village. With easy access to nearby Whitby and many other local attractions, this cottage provides an excellent base for an enjoyable holiday.
