A number of superb walks begin nearby, including the easy ascent of Orrest Head which promises spectacular views of Lake Windermere from the top. A mile down the road and you’ll reach bustling Bowness, offering sophisticated shopping, a range of restaurants and even a lively nightlife – from the cosy ‘Hole int Wall’ traditional pub to the trendy Bodegas & Sol tapas bar.
